Measures we’re taking
How we’re ensuring workers know how to keep themselves safe from exposure to COVID-19
-
As per Lambton Public Health guidelines, ALL Coaches (volunteer or paid) are required to have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine on or before
November 30, 2021.
-
Coaches are required to pre-screen prior to their shift by utilizing the same tool as required by the Ministry of Health / Ministry of Education for students to
attend school. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/covid19-cms-assets/2021-01/Printable%20school%20and%20child%20care%20screening_Eng_AODA.pdf
-
Coaches are required to rapid test once within 72 hours of any assigned shift.
-
Coaches are required to either wash or sanitize their hands upon entering the gym area.
How we’re screening for COVID-19
-
A screening must be completed by each staff member as well as each parent / guardian for every student prior to class.
-
As part of the pre-screening, a temperature check will be completed upon entry to the gym by everyone. This will be conducted by on of the Lead Coaches for
the evening.
How we’re controlling the risk of transmission in our workplace
Capacity Limitations
-
Total gym capacity is limited to 22 people during classes when exercising is taking place (this includes coaches and students).
-
-
This provides 109 sq/ft per individual in gym area. (Based on the gym's capacity rating, this represents ONLY 20% of the total capacity
of the gym).
Cleaning
-
The gym uses a thymol based cleaner (Bioesque)
-
High traffic areas are disinfected between classes (i.e. cubbies).
-
Equipment is sanitized daily.
Other
-
Hand sanitizing and washing mandatory before entering the gym. Hand sanitizer is provided at gym entrances.
-
Class cohorts are adhered to, meaning the same students attend the same day/time each and every week. Classes are separated by 10 minutes of transition
time to try an minimize cross class contacts.
What we will do if there is a potential case, or suspected exposure to, COVID-19 at our workplace
-
We record attendance for every class and have all phone numbers, addresses and email addresses of each staff member and participant family on file.
-
In the event we are notified of a potential exposure at the gym, we would immediately provide all information as requested by Lambton Public Health and
follow the appropriate isolation measures.
How we’re managing any new risks caused by the changes made to the way we operate our business
-
Our operation has opted to run continually under more stringent rules than those mandated by the government. We will continue to do so
until such time that all restrictions have been lifted.
